Remove the battery from the handle and release it from the clamp. 3. Insert a new battery and place it back into the handle. 4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screws securely. Cleaning: 1. Clean the device before and after each use. 2. Thorough cleaning ensures proper function. Use a cotton cloth or towel dampened with detergent to wipe the probe and device surface, then rinse with clean water. Do not wipe dry after rinsing, as water droplets will not affect performance. Drying may cause contamination and affect accuracy. Re-clean manually if needed. 3. Clean the instrument before testing each animal to ensure accurate results and prevent cross-contamination. 4. After each use, clean the ovulation meter and store it in the original packaging. Data Interpretation: 1. Non-estrus pigs typically show readings above 450. 2. During estrus, values decrease, reaching a low of approximately 250. This low phase lasts about 20 hours. When values rise back toward 400, first mating is recommended. A second mating is suggested 68 hours later (when readings are above 450). 3. One day after mating, readings may rise above 600 and reach up to 800, which is normal. How to Use: 1. Clean the probe before use. Use a cloth dampened with household detergent to wipe the probe thoroughly, especially the sensing area. Rinse with clean water and use immediately. Do not wipe dry after rinsing. 2. Keep the animal still. Tilt the device slightly and insert it parallel into the animals cervix until fully seated. 3. Rotate the device gently for two full turns and hold in place. Press the button to display the first reading. Press again for the second reading, and a third time for the third reading. Maintain the same position throughout testingdo not move, reinsert, or rotate between readings. For accuracy, record the two closest values as the test result.
